Why your brand doesn't stand out & how to fix it

Are you putting out pretty looking content consistently that you created in Canva or with a social media template you just purchased from Creative Market? Do you feel you are doing what everyone else does out there, and you are still not attracting the customers you enjoy working together? No worries, you are not alone! And I have good news. It's fixable! Of course, consistently showing up is half of the success, but knowing your audience and why you are doing all this hard work is just as important.

But how do you do that?

Through focusing on these 5 areas, I put together that will help you understand why your brand doesn't stand out from the crowd and what to do about it.

01. You don't have a Brand Heart

First, you always have to get clear on your vision for your business.

If you don't know who you are, why you are doing what you do, and don't have a future vision and mission in mind, how do you expect your customers to understand what your business can help them achieve?

Fix: Get very clear on why you want to serve these people and where you see yourself in 5 years from now. It’s important to feel good in your business, because you know you are working towards your dreams.

02. You don't know your audience

Without knowing your audience, you won't be able to create a clear messaging and look that evokes the right emotions. It is like shouting in the crowd, but no one hears you or notices you. Ouch.

Fix: Get very specific on the type of person you would like to invite into your programs, so you can talk to them in a way that they feel you are reading their minds.

03. You didn't do competitive analysis

Understanding your competition not only can help you in setting up your own business but discovering areas in the market where you can stand out. You don’t want to look and sound like Mary from the corner.

Fix: Look at everything successful brands do in your industry (name, look & feel, values, etc.) and get inspired by them. Don’t copy, just be yourself!

04. You don't have clarity on your Brand Voice

Communication is a big part of our lives. Through communication, we understand each other and express our thoughts, and when it comes to business, sending the right message is essential to create trust with our ideal customers. You can’t be perky on your website but very formal in your emails.

Fix: Get clear on your tone of voice and your core message. How do you communicate? What do you want to communicate?

05. You don't have a brand positioning statement

What do you tell people when they ask what you do? I'm a fitness coach/business coach/yoga instructor? That is not enough! Without a clear brand statement, your potential customers won't know how you can help them achieve their goals and desires.

Fix: Be specific about the results you can give them and how you are going to help them achieve these results.
